The Story.

I studied biology and religion at the University of Rochester and went to medical school at St. George's University. I trained in neurology at the University of Minnesota and in neurocritical care at Stanford. I've been a practicing neurologist since 2016. I started my practice in the ruggedly beautiful desert of Tucson, Arizona, and after meeting my wife journeyed to Temecula, California.

My dive into writing began with my father's death in 2019. It led to a personal exploration of mortality and ultimately to my first book, Love Does Not Know Death. After self-publishing that book, I found a deep love of daily writing and began capturing what the hospital teaches me in essays on Substack. My love of comparative religion and spirituality started young, in a multicultural household, and only grew through medical school and training. I continue to write essays on those topics on Medium and explore them further with my co-host Stephan on our podcast Letters to the Sky.

I live in Temecula, California, with my wife Elaine, who is a pulmonologist and intensivist. Elaine and I are avid runners (at least I try to be) and chase Spartan and Hyrox events as often as we can. When we're not working or running, we're out hiking.
